General Instructions:
1. To assist States in developing training plans based on realistic estimation of training load for each cadre.
2. To assist the States in designing road map for achieving training planned in terms of number of training institutions required, number of trainers required and number of trained personnel coming out every quarter.
3. To scrutinize CTP / training plans in PIPs state-wise and institution-wise.
4. To undertake monitoring visits to assess the quality of training especially skill training, implementation of training action plans and programme performance.
5. To provide on site supportive supervision to the trainers, training institutes and also to the health facilities in following the desired protocols.
6. To liaise and brief officers of MoHFW / States on successes, problems and issues based on the monitoring visits.
7. To submit technical reports (including when necessary brief action points) on quality of training and programme performance based on field visit reviews to the Director / State / GOI / Programme Officer.
8. To assist in preparing different training modules training material curriculum and guidelines etc. in consultation with the faculty and programme divisions to the GOI.
9. To assist in preparing guidelines for accreditation of training institutions, health care facilities etc.
10. To assist in developing prototype for database of trained manpower.
11. To assist in developing checklist for monitoring training, infrastructure and service delivery in health care facility and assessing the same against norms of GOI.
12. To help Director / Nodal Officer organize TOTs, Expert Committee meetings and other meetings and workshops as required from time to time.
13. To assist the states in maintaining an updated record of State-wise functional facilities (FRUs and 24×7 PHCs etc.)
14. To carry out any other relevant work assigned by the Director / Asstt. Nodal Officer / Nodal Officer.

About the organization:
National Institute of Health & Family Welfare (NIHFW) is an Apex Technical Institute, funded by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for promotion of Health and Family Welfare programmes in the country through education, training, research, evaluation, consultancy and specialised services. NIHFW was established on 9th March, 1977 by merger of National Institute of Health Administration and Education (NIHAE) and National Institute of Family Planning (NIFP). NIHFW is to be seen as an Institute of global repute in public health & family welfare management.To act as think tank, catalyst & innovator for management of public health and related health & family welfare programmes by pursuing multiple functions of Education & Training, Research & Evaluation, Consultancy & Advisory services as well as provision of specialised services through inter-disciplinary teams. NIHFW has a Computer Centre with facilities for data analysis, programming and Computer Assisted Learning (CAL). The Institute has established Campus Wide Area Network and computerised different units in the Institute. Four powerful servers are hosted in the computer centre, connecting 250 PCs in the campus. Internet connectivity is also provided to Faculty, Research and Administrative staff through 2 MBPS MTNL leased line. The functioning of academic cell, administration, finance, hospital, hostel, library, stores, etc. is fully computerised under the initiatives taken by the Computer Centre. The office automation and e-governance software are widely used in the Institute. The Computer Centre has a well-equipped computer lab for teaching/training purpose. Computer training is provided to staff, MD/DHA students and participants of various courses. Computer Centre also organises Short Course on Epidemiological and Biomedical Data Analysis, using Statistical Software. The Centre is also organising training programmes such as Computer Applications in Health and Family Welfare Management. The Centre is working on web-based training programmes. The Teaching block has 10 Lecture Halls, 12 Seminar rooms, 1 Conference Hall (with 70 seating capacity), 1 Auditorium (with 186 seating capacity), equipped with state of the art audio-visual facilities. The National Documentation Centre (NDC) provides its services to the faculty, staff and trainees of NIHFW and other national and international agencies engaged in the implementation of health, population and family welfare programmes in the country. Library is fully computerised and search facility is available through Online Publication Access Catalog (OPAC). NDC has been well furnished with floor carpeting, furniture and fixture. The portraits of eminent scientist and sceneries add more beauty in NDC. Display systems of Journals and arrival of new publications are very well arranged on the wooden racks. Books and Journals, Census of India, Publications and other special Publications (UN, WHO, etc.) are arranged on the first floor of NDC. Sitting arrangement of users has been classified according to the different types of literature – books, journals and newspapers, respectively. This set of change makes library cosy and add glamour to it. Over a period of two decades, it has developed a well-balanced and up-to-date collection of over 70,000 documents including books, periodicals, technical and research reports, conference proceedings, modules and other non-book materials.
