The exam is conducted by
Union Public Service Commission in India. You need to prepare for the exam which a tough nut to crack for anyone. It requires thorough preparation with adequate coaching classes if possible. Lastly it is followed by an interview after cracking which one will be part of the government structure. The salary for an IAS officer varies according the grade they fall. For example the junior level officer draws a salary of around Rs.8000 to Rs.13500 where a secretary of cabinet draws anywhere around Rs.26000 to Rs.30000. The next high paying government job is income tax commissioner which is also great job to be on. He is highly responsible person with great powers entrusted by the government. It is him that makes the revenue of the government filled through collection of taxes. Once you become an income tax officer then you have to climb the ladder of the hierarchal structure to reach the position of the commissioner.
